Virginia Rivenbark found the experience of becoming a WSGB educator transformative, both personally and professionally. She is a DONA International Advanced Certified Birth Doula (certified since 2001), a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (since 2015), and a Lactation Counselor. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed care, with a passion for educating and supporting expectant families while empowering them to make informed decisions and access care that best meets their needs. She also enjoys mentoring new doulas within her community. She and her husband, Tom, live in Southern Maryland and cherish their large family, including eight adult children, their partners, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She currently offers the WSGB three-hour virtual training for professionals who work with childbearing families and looks forward to expanding to longer trainings. She is also available to provide customized trauma-informed education for organizations through both virtual and in-person workshops.
